Keep on reading to see why Mixcraft could be exactly what you're after in a recording program and how it can help you in ways you may not have thought of yet. The Top Ten (Plus More) Reasons To Get This Program Right Now! 1. It's now out in version 5 and completely overhauled with much improved graphics and visual effects that give a crisp and professional look to Mixcraft 5. And all this makes it easier on the eyes to view it - and how to handily put to use it's elaborate features. Well hey, here's a look at a main work page - a picture is worth a thousand words. And this main work screen even has a video window too that you may have spotted in the lower right hand corner. Yes, you can even score and edit your own music video with Mixcraft. More on this later, anyway here's the screen shot: 2. Mixcraft comes with a custom loop library that includes over 3000 royalty-free sounds in dozens of musical styles. Loops, if you're not familiar, are short recorded samples of sounds including everything from instruments like guitars, keyboards and drums to things like birds chirping, a firetruck siren blaring or hands clapping in applause. A really cool thing about loops is that they can be repeated over and over again for as long of a section of your song as you need. For example if you just want a strings section in your chorus you can extend the loop through that section and even copy and paste it into all of your chorus sections. It's as simple as pasting in the loop on its own track and then dragging the right side of it over to the end of the section or as near or far as you want it to cover. You can always go back an change it too. And another cool thing about about loops is that in general they're tempo and key accommodating. So if your song is in the key of C at 60 bpm then your loop will adjust to that automatically. And in version 5 there are over 1000 new loops, including the following song kits with everything from 70's Funk to Surf Rock to Reggae to Vegas Rock. 3. Add even more and different loops if you want by importing from Acid™ and Apple's Garage Band™ loops too. As if the 3,000 loops weren't enough already you can even import loops from Sony's Acid, a well known loops program. And even Apple's Garage Band loops can be imported to Mixcraft. | " I just received my upgrade to Mixcraft 5 and I am just blown away..." "I just received my upgrade to Mixcraft 5 and I am just blown away by the production level, ease-of-use, and the over all look of the product. The learning curve from version 4 to 5 is minimal but for those interested in really getting to the meat of music production, Mixcraft 5 offers everything you could want. Please keep up the amazing work." David Cartner | 4. You get Acoustica's Instruments General MIDI sample library and the Acoustica Expanded Instruments sample library along with classic virtual instrument renditions of Lounge Lizard Session vintage electric piano, VB3 tonewheel organ, MiniMogueVA monophonic analog synthesizer, Messiah polyphonic analog synthesizer, Alien303 Bass Synthesizer, and Impulse polyphonic analog synthesizer. By the way, a virtual instrument is a software version of real tangible instrument. And quite often the actual instruments are no longer manufactured but were popular and continue to be popular for their sound. Also, to continue to produce these instruments would be typically too costly and or the company that made them is out of business. And often the amount of room they'd take up in your studio would be completely impractical. So nicely though, with advanced computer technology, many classic and even contemporary instruments, have had all of their sounds recorded in such a way that you can literally "play" the instrument on your computer and get the same sound or sounds out of it and record that instrument into your tracks. This allows you more variety in the sound of your recording and can even inspire you to create your own "sound" by virtue of how you mix together all of the various instruments in Mixcraft. 5. Get upwards of twenty high quality effects like the Pultronic Tube EQ, which models the classic tube equalizer found in studios throughout the world the Shred Amp Simulator, a complete suite of 5 classic amp heads, 17 cabinet models, and 6 powerful effects. Here again computer technology has created the ability for your to bend or color so to speak the quality and character of each or all of your tracks to get just the right sound. You may want to use only a few of them, a lot of them, even in combination, or none at all. It's your choice - get as creative as you want or if your style is simple, intimate and or raw you might just stick with the commonly used effects of reverb and EQ. 6. Load in all the additional VSTi™ instruments, VST™ and DirectX™ effects that you want. Mixcraft is not just limited to what it comes with, although it bursting with choices and quite ably is fully ready to handle even very elaborate recording visions, you can add more virtual instruments and effects to your heart's content. So you get to have your cake and add more musical frosting too if you want. | "...I went through several programs like Pro-Tools, Sonar, and Cubase -- they were not friendly and created problems on my PC. I was all set to breakdown and buy a Mac, when I found Mixcraft 5." "Recently while working on a new album I decided to shift over to computer recording in my home studio. The learning curve was quite steep and I went through several programs like Pro-Tools, Sonar, and Cubase -- they were not friendly and created problems on my PC. I was all set to breakdown and buy a Mac, when I found Mixcraft 5. This program is so easy-to-use and works perfectly on my PC, I can now concentrate on my music. Better yet, the tech support is superior to any tech support I have seen and the customer service is spectacular. Mixcraft truly meets Acoustica's motto 'software should be easy-to-use' and fills a big hole in the PC market." Glenn Zottola (International jazz recording artist, producer, and band-leader) | 7. Set up and save mega presets with certain effects that you can apply to your tracks for a certain consistent type of sound. This saves you from having to start from scratch every time you want to add effects to a track or group of tracks. Say you want a certain amount of reverb and EQ on your vocals each time - just set it up once and then apply it each time you record your vocal. This way you get a consistent sound and don't have to take the time to set these effects up and modify them each time you record your voice. This would be handy to have such a consistent set of effects when you're typically recording in the same place everytime. 8. You can record multiple MIDI and audio tracks simultaneously. In other words let's say you want to record your vocal and some virtual instruments and loops all at once you can with no strain on the program. And if you're working with some other instrumentalists or your band and you want to record everyone and their instruments at the same time again you're set with Mixcraft. 9. Easily edit your MIDI tracks with the popular piano roll view. Because midi tracks are completely digital their individual notes are easily depictable on a piano type roll display that allows you to drag and move notes high or lower in pitch or to occur sooner or later or longer or shorter. Then just save your changes and carry on. 10. Mix down to MP3, WAV, high-quality compressed OGG, and other audio file types. You're not limited to just mixing down to a .wav file here for the final recorded rendition of your song(s). Mix down all your tracks to MP3 for quick distribution to your player and the web or to send off in an email to your collaborator. And you've got to check out the new .ogg format. It allows you to mix down to essentially a .wav file, the typical file format that you'd save your final mix in or use to put onto an audio cd for your CD player at home or in your car, but in about a tenth of the space. With .ogg files no longer will you be eating up all the hard drive space on your computer as fast as you may have been. Now you won't have to buy a new computer as soon just to get a bigger hard drive to save all your songs :-) And here's five more reasons to get Mixcraft right now... 1. Burn CDs of your mix with just one click. Ya, that easy, just pick the format you want, MP3, OGG, WAV and click - boom it's done. 2. Take advantage of improved Mixcraft 5's handy and familiar mixer Interface to put together the tracks of your recording with just the right effects for that perfect sound.. Like on any good mixer the controls for standard effects like volume, pan, mute, and solo are readily at hand as well as the effects and instrument dialogs for further customization of each track. Also each track on the mixer Interface has a 3-band EQ for just the right touch of extra fine tuning.. 3. Easily engage Mixcraft's notation tools that allow you to create, edit, and print your MIDI data in familiar music notation format. Need a version of your midi piano part in standard music notation. Use this feature to print out notes of the part on music staves with the key signature and measures noted. | "This is one of the BEST programs that I have ever used, it is just like Pro tools but better,..." This is one of the BEST programs that I have ever used, it is just like Pro tools but better, CHEAPER, and easier. I highly recommend this program to everyone; especially to a musician who is on a budget like me." Chuck | 4. Enjoy the new quicker speed of Mixcraft's audio processing for faster processing of all functions and practically live audio sound production. Mixcraft has undergone several fine tunings to further maximize processing speed and to drive latency levels to their lowest to date. Latency, if you're not familiar, is a delay in the production of sound that's due to the various processors that a sound signal must run through on your computer before you hear it. For example, if you're playing your midi keyboard, that's hooked up to your computer, you may hit the C note let's say but then it seems to take a moment before you here the note come out of your speakers. That delay time is what latency is. This has been a big challenge for computer recording software over the years and thankfully it has been an improving scenario where latency is becoming practically a non-issue with better and better technology. With the latest enhancements to Mixcraft's audio engine - latency has been driven to its lowest levels ever. And with the WaveRT Exclusive Mode (set up with Windows 7) in Mixcraft very, very low latency is achieved on most audio hardware without the need for special add-on sound card drivers. In other words this technology allows Mixcraft to bypass your operating system and interact directly with your computer's sound card for an ultra-fast and enjoyable audio experience. 5. And even manipulate and modify your own video tracks right in the program. The Video Track feature allows you the ability to load and edit your video files easily giving you the ability to cross-fade from one video clip to another, completely remix the audio and or add a soundtrack and then readily create your new video file to put on a dvd or launch onto youtube. All the familiar audio file types that you're already used too and some not perhaps - like .ogg files that take up about a tenth of the space as the commonly used .wav file in recording. With the Video Track feature load and edit your video files right on the programs main screen. And stay tuned for even more features and benefits coming up... | HERE'S SOME MORE POSITIVE FEEDBACK ON MIXCRAFT 5 "Mixcraft has a bright future. Alan Vickery "I've always been a Digi Pro / Pro Tools guy, but I have to tell you this new Version 5, all things considered, is the best I have worked with. I stopped using it for a while and used Cubase and few other programs but you guys won me back after version 3, I stuck around and man am I glad I did! Version 5 is just incredible, the automated effects controls allow me to use a simple pitch shifter to do automatic pitch shifting with a simple VST pitch shifter ;easily fixing flats and sharps in vocals smoothly! Can't wait to see what's next. Also, I showed this software to a pro... Jesse Sprinkle, he works for Solid State Records, Tooth & Nail Records and Amani Records as well as a few others. Aitor Valle | CLICK HERE TO GET MIXCRAFT MAKING ALL YOUR SONGS AND MIXES THEIR BEST But we're just getting started here with all the lean body mass of this program... Here's more power booster tools under the hood and what they mean to easing and optimizing your song recording. | TAKE A LOOK HERE AT MORE THAT MIXCRAFT BRINGS TO YOUR SONG RECORDING WITH THE INCREDIBLE CAPABILITIES OF ITS SOUND PROCESSING ENGINE 1. Simply hook your USB MIDI keyboard or any keyboard connected to a MIDI interface to your computer with Mixcraft and play away on any and all of Mixcraft's built-in instruments from the MIDI library to the classic virtual instruments.. 2. Lengthen or shorten your song without changing the pitch (the notes played or sung) - as Mixcraft now comes with FlexAudio (TM) technology. FlexAudio (TM) allows you to essentially stretch your song anywhere from 25% all the way up to %400 and you'll never know you didn't actually record it that way. Say your song is coming out sounding just a tad too fast and clocks in at three minutes and twenty seconds - so you stretch it a bit and bam - it sounds perfect at 3:30 - problem solved. 3. Length okay but need to change the key - no problem - you can move the pitches (the notes) up or down to get it just where you need it. Mixcraft's pitch shift function allows you to move your music from -24 to +12 semitones - that's up or down the music scale to right where it's singable for you or your vocalist. 4. Import popular file types like WAV, AIF, OGG, WMA, and MP3 files - and load them onto a track for your song project mix. Say you've got a vocal recorded in another program as .wav file (WAV file) - typically the file type that a vocal file would be in - and you want to load it into Mixcraft. No problem - just import it onto a track and continue to build your mix from there. 5. Record all the tracks you want with all the instruments you want and all the effects you want. That's right - there is no track limit nor instrument or effect limits in Mixcraft - your creativity can be totally unleashed if that's where you want to go. . So if you feel like it you can go for that tricked-out full orchestra topped off with grunge guitar leads or get all the same power and quality for when you just want a simple, clean, intimate piano-vocal or guitar-vocal demo. 6. And enjoy broadcast quality recording and playback of all your production work - as Mixcraft is humming under the hood with a 32 bit sound engine up to 192 kHz. 7. Plus you can clean up any artifact or extraneous noise in your recording if you need to with Mixcraft's noise reduction technology. Once you've got your tracks recorded use even the most basic of effects with no set limit points. Enjoy full flexibility with each track's volume, pan and resonant filters to get each right where you want it. 9. Get Mixcraft's new powered up capability for up to 16 processor cores (double the last version at a still hefty 8). You may have been hearing all the buzz about the duo-core (two processor cores) that are now fairly standard on most new computers as they allow your computer to do a lot more a lot faster. Mixcraft works great with the new typical two and if by chance you've got more cores loaded into your computer Mixcraft is ready to rev up right along with those extra core's for even more lightning performance. And you can run Mixcraft on a Macs too - with award winning Parallels software simultaneously with your Mac OS. Parallels runs any Windows program on your Mac. | And check out more that makes Mixcraft so easy to work with... -
Great if you've got a MIDI controller keyboard and if you don't - no problem - Mixcraft's Musical Typing Keyboard (in conjunction with your own QWERTY keyboard) allows the capability to play and record virtual instruments without the use of a MIDI controller keyboard. Stated another way - you would use your computer’s typing keyboard to play individual notes and even chords. Using your computer's own keyboard you can control things like pitch bend, modulation, and velocity. Sustain notes simply by pressing the Shift key, And transpose (change keys) by semitones or octaves. -
Enjoy the option to use more than one monitor - Mixcraft 5 comes with multi-monitor support. Immediately utilize the multiple monitor set up you have or if you want to add another monitor to your single screen set up Mixcraft is programmed to work with it right away. -
Load in any standard midi file - Got a MIDI file you love in another program or one that your collaborator sent you - no problem - just load it into Mixcraft and it's ready to go. -
Tweak that MIDI file or any MIDI file quickly and easily in the piano roll editor - Pop up the piano roll editor to adjust the loop points or edit notes to get just the right melody or chord sound you need. The basic mouse moves of drag, drop, cut, copy, split erase or enter are pretty much the only computer skills you need on this one - and pretty much the entire program frankly. Do this on the piano roll editor and pretty much anywhere else in the program. It's kind of like a big word processor but for music making. -
And speaking of basic manual mouse workability - relax with the newer ease of use workflow in Mixcraft - Mixcraft 5 has been nuanced and enhanced with the incorporation of more intuitive design and placement and function of keyboard controls for faster work flow. At it's first incarnation Mixcraft was hailed as easy to use and now with the benefit of tons of user feedback and with five complete overhauls the ease of use aspect has been honed to a fine art. You may have noticed many people rave about ease of use in the testimonials and it's not by accident. -
Get all the visual cues on your tracks that you want - your way - Simply edit a track's color, size and position in a variety of ways. Want all your guitar tracks to be shown in orange, pianos in purple and drums in brown - done. Want the lead vocal track to be the widest and the background vocals the narrowest - done. And you can even add your own photos or images to the header of each track. Like they say at Burger King - have it your way. -
Move around, maximize and minimize detail screens to go with your work flow - Just unlock the details tabs and move them around anywhere on your screen or even onto a second monitor. And if you need a full view just maximize the details tabs window to get a full-screen mixing view, MIDI editing, access to the loop library, and on... -
Easily keep track of how much of your computer's power you're using while you're working in Mixcraft or recording - with a colored cpu meter - Readily note how much power your work and recording process is eating up with the color-coded CPU meter on Mixcraft 5's status bar. Although Mixcraft is designed to be highly efficient when it comes to processor power usage - depending on your computer's capability this will vary and with this feature you'll be able to keep track of your computer’s processing power at all times. -
Get overall control of all your tracks with the Master Track function in Mixcraft - Use the Master Track to readily automate the effects (volume, etc.) that you want for all your tracks in one overarching location. From the Master Track control every track's parameters and master volume and create a smooth and easy fade-in and fade-out of your mix every time. -
And work in the opposite direction so to speak by selecting a group of tracks to all have a particular set of their own effects - Do this by using the Send Tracks feature that lets you route both audio, even from multiple Audio Tracks, and any or all of your Virtual Instrument Tracks to a single set of audio effects. So say you want to have a particular reverb effect on your preselected set of audio and or Virtual Instrument tracks - just apply it in the Send Tracks function - and all of this can be done automatically too. -
Even set up a set of effects that you want on a particular instrument and even automate it if you want so it's applied each time you load in that instrument - no starting from scratch every recording session - You simply create a set of custom instrument presets which combine multiple virtual instruments and effects. For example you could set up a key range, velocity sensitivity, transposition, pan and volume for each instrument - like your electric guitar, your Yamaha digital piano and your acoustic cello and or any Virtual Instrument too. -
Use the new Mix To New Audio Track feature to lock in or set aside the effects work you've done on a track to more easily allow you to focus on other or remaining tracks you want to edit - Mixcraft now has a new Mix To New Audio Track feature allows you to mix down an Audio Track or Virtual Instrument Track with all of its effects to a new audio track. This is the commonly referred to as "bouncing" a track - taking a track that typically you've edited with effects and merging it all together into a new unified track. This way if you're content with how a particular instrument or vocal track sounds with any and all effects you've added, like reverb, EQ and just the right volume you want, simply mix it to a new audio track and it's "frozen" just the way you want it. With the Mix To New Audio Track you won't accidentally change the reverb or any other setting - saving you from a big screw-up that may have been from work you spent a long time getting just right. And a using this feature is an easy one-click and you're done move- and it saves on CPU power because you're not having to have all those effects running independently anymore.. -
Take this one a further step by putting two or more audio and or midi tracks together on one track - Use the Mix To New Clip feature to merge several audio or MIDI clips together to form one single clip - process called, you guessed it - merging. Again, this is a great way to “lock in” edits that you have made to a recording, to combine a bunch of loops into one new loop or to mix multiple MIDI tracks into one MIDI track. -
And speaking of loops - make your own with Mixcraft - Simply take any sound and make it into a loop. For example, you could even take an entire section of a song or a single instrument or sound effect (like a highway rush of traffic sound) and cut out a section - essentially extracting a "loop" of it - and set it up to run in a section of the song your working on. You can even further that loop with all the various effects we've been talking about to make it into something subtly or completely reworked and new. And no matter what loops you use you get Mixcraft’s improved seamless looping mode that lets you smoothly loop sections of your song - no gapping in the audio - no dead spaces. -
Use the Recording Count-in or not - it's your choice and you can set it wherever you want - Set Mixcraft’s metronome to count for one on up to 32 measures before recording will start. And however you count in or not you also get the ability to work in the beats / measures mode or in time mode. Also once you have a track recorded you can adjust the snap to grid setting that makes it so you can work and edit in whole notes, quarter notes, etc. -

Thanks! I love the new version already. Used it last night to mix a video demonstrating the use of all my DJ lights. Job well done you guys!" Sean Perry, Perry Computers "I am amazed with how much Mixcraft has to offer for the price. I have used this software to create sweepers for my online radio station as well as recording my own mixes. It has been nothing but a blast! Thank you so much for creating this program. It is so easy to work I upgraded from 4 the day you guys posted it on the website. I'm a proud member of mixcraftlive.com and very satisfied customer of Acoustica." Drew Rose "Best software out in the marketplace, I tried Mixcraft 4, now 5 and wow, I'm so happy with it." Mario Zamora "My little Mixcraft groove "Don't See Me Workin' For You" has held the #1 pop song on the Canadianmusic.com chart and holding all time #1 for the last 2 months. Who'da thunk it! What a great studio system for 'part timers' like me." Sim, mixcraftlive.com/sim "I've been a user since Mixcraft 2. Coming from Audacity, I've tried several other brands like Cakewalk, N-Studio and more; nothing compares to Mixcraft. From the product features to tech support it is just awesome, as well as easy to understand and use. The recent upgrades for virtual instruments, notation and video only give it the power to expand, equal to your dreams. There is nothing hard about it. Just plug and play. I just can't wait to get Mixcraft 5 with all its new features. It's prompting me to get a new PC just to be able to use all the features promised. Great product. Great value and overall a great idea. Thanks for your hard work and dedication. " Jim Wiebeck "Your product is superior to my $400.00 Sonar 8 Producer pack!!Mixcraft version 5 beta worked great...I could not make it crash!! I run Kontact 4 Player, Kore 2, Dimension and Rapture synths in it....it is awesome!!" Paul Amirault "Mixcraft 5 is FANTASTIC. You guys have really outdone yourselves; the interface is intuitive and sleek, it's hardly ever crashed on me, my VSTs all work better than before... the Automation, Mixer and Musical Typing Keyboard tools in particular have reduced my workload tons and opened up possibilities for effects I've never been able to manage before... Mixcraft 5 has done nothing short of making everything tremendously easier and more fun for me and I've been recommending it to every musician I know. :) Thanks again for the help, and keep up the great work!" Mike Meredith "I'm a beta tester, and must say that version 5 is really fantastic. Well, I was scared when my first attempt to load Mixcraft 5 took about 20 minutes. I restarted my computer and retried then bam! It loaded real quick! Congrats on all the bug fixes. Also, I bought Mixcraft 4 and Beatcraft a few months ago. I'm saving from my school bonus to buy Pianissimo this August. I'll keep spreading the word about Mixcraft! Thank you and I love your company!" Jax L "Mixcraft is an excellent product for the price. It is very easy to use, and you can get a lot done with it. Personally, I use it for Recording / Mixing, and then I can output the mix for further mastering. Other DAW systems are extremely expensive and hard to use. Why waste your money when you can get a program that does the same thing?"
