Stay up to date on Songwriting Software Plus site
developments with our site improved XML/RSS feeds.
You may
have been seeing those little orange XML/RSS
buttons around the Internet and they're now on this site - just to your
left on top of the navigation bar..
If you
were wondering what they are... they more readily help you get newsfeeds
from sites like CNN or BBC, as well as just about anything else, like news
on upcoming movies or your favorite band's tour updates, etc.... and now
updates to this site's content... all these things as they happen.
"RSS"
means "Really Simple Syndication." It lets you keep up-to-date without
having to check a site every day or week - it's like having your favorite
parts of the Web come to you.
How do
you get started? Easy! Download a free RSS Reader first. This is special
software that reads the RSS feeds...
For Windows
checkout -- RssReader http://www.rssreader.com/
For Macs
checkout -- NetNewsWire http://ranchero.com/netnewswire/
Once you're
set up, here's all you have to do... Right-click (control-click for Mac
users) on any orange RSS button on a site, blog or news source that interests
you.
Start by
right-clicking on an orange XML/RSS button
- like the one up above the nav bar to your left on this page. Then... Select
Copy Shortcut ("Copy Link to Clipboard" for Mac, "Copy Link Location" for
Firefox browsers), and paste that URL into your RSS Reader.
And that's
it! You're subscribed and updates will come to you as they happen.
Do this
on any site you like that has this great feature.
