Hello First up; Editor's Note (from the laptop of Robert Curtis) Followed by Items: 1. Masterize Your Songwriting With
MasterWriter Editor's Note: I'm just taking on groove, having finished harmony, in private study with Jai Josefs, and I'm accordingly getting into a new groove with this newsletter as new products are coming on board for you to consider adding to your arsenal of songwriting tools. This month we'll take a peak at a program that is brand new to Songwriting Software Plus and may best be described as a songwriter's word processor on steroids. It has a load of tools for your lyric writing efforts and a couple of cool musical tools too. It's called MasterWriter and it has won wide appeal among beginning to established hit writers alike. It is quite versatile and can work nicely with other songwriting software including working complimentary to our best selling program Lyricist. Concerning some basic features of the newsletter itself I've had to drop the site and web search boxes as frankly they just didn't work in the format of an email. If they become workable I'll add them back in future issues. For now we have replaced them with a link to our new Google powered search page. Also, I've added a new section towards the end of the newsletter that will spotlight Songwriting Software Plus special discounts as a regular reminder of the best deals on value adding software for your songwriting. It's called the Songwriting Software Plus Special Savings Zone oddly enough ;-) I hope you enjoy the read and continue to enjoy developing your craft and the impact of your songs on yourself, your friends and family, and the world.
Songwriting Software Plus is pleased to introduce MasterWriter to our family of songwriting software. It may be the most comprehensive aid to the actual process of writing songs particularly on the lyric side of the equation. MasterWriter has been called a triple threat; it's there for you at the beginning of your song to help inspire ideas, then helps you develop your ideas and then is there to serve you to polish your song from satisfying to sensational. It is used by the likes of Rob Thomas of MatchBox 20, Gwen Stefani of No Doubt, Kenny Loggins, Trent Reznor, Clint Black, Jimmy Webb, Jeffrey Steele and many others. And it has also impressed major songwriter organizations like ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, SOCAN, PRS and NSAI who have endorsed it for their members. Never Be At A Loss For Words MasterWriter contains numerous rhymes, phrases, idioms, alliterations, cultural references and dictionaries providing a comprehensive array of sparks to start a song or develop and finish one. In the rhyme department there is a rhyming dictionary with over 100,000 rhymes that is reinforced with a rhymed phrases dictionary that in of itself has over 36,000 entries, great when you need more impact than a single rhyme alone. Need a phrase in particular? Then take advantage of it's phrases dictionary that has everything from the oldies but goodies, even the kitchen sink, to today's phrases, idioms, clichés, sayings and word combinations totaling over 35,000 listings. Need to look up the meaning of a word and then find you need to use a synonym instead just check out the included American Heritage Dictionary and Roget’s II Thesaurus to be sure of the definition and to pick your alternative word or phrase. Then there is an alliterations dictionary. Alliteration always adds an additional angle to any song :-) MasterWriter provides the world's only alliteration dictionary that in case you'd forgotten - alliteration is when words begin with the same or same kinds of sounds. If you want to include a cultural reference you'll find a deep well of choices for both American and world icons, over 11,000 in all, in the pop-culture dictionary. MasterWriter ties all of this together with its own full function word processor that includes usual formatting like choices for fonts and typical word processing aids like spell check. Quickly Record Your Newly Inspired Melody With the built-in stereo hard disk recorder
you're able to quickly record and save the melodic hook that just started
buzzing in your head, right there in the program, along with your other notes
about the song, before you lose it. Find Just
The Right Rhythm Or Spice Things Up With A Different Groove Find the groove that supports the feeling of your song or search through different tracks to get stimulated on a hot pattern. MasterWriter contains a library of over 250 tempo adjustable MIDI drum loops. You can even try writing a song to a groove, a popular method of writing a lot of today's pop songs. This is often referred to as "groove up writing". Elegantly Designed And Easy To Use MasterWriter has an intuitive interface that by design makes it so easy to use. To make it totally clear though the program comes with a Flash Demo, a mini movie of sorts, that takes you through the main functions and features of the program. All in all it's learning curve is short and you can use it quite readily on the very next song you work on.
